The EFL has lifted the transfer embargo placed on Cardiff City after they paid the first instalment of the fee owed to Nantes for the late Emiliano Sala.
Sala died in a plane crash in January 2019 after he was travelling from France to join the club who were then in the Premier League.
A three-window embargo was imposed by FIFA because Cardiff refused to pay the first part of the fee.

Preston North End have confirmed that 19-year-old striker Liam Delap will join the club on loan from Manchester City until the end of the season.
Delap spent the first half of the 2022-23 campaign on loan with Stoke City and scored just three goals in 22 appearances for the Championship side.
Delap was subsequently recalled by his parent club, City, but will now join Ryan Lowe’s side until the end of the season.

Manchester United and Chelsea have registered and interest in signing Southampton full-back Kyle Walker-Peters.
The 25-year-old has been a standout performer for the Saints after arriving from Tottenham Hotspur in August 2020.
However, the defender – who has made 16 appearances and scored one goal so far this season – has been linked with a move during the January transfer window.

Wout Weghorst has reportedly packed his bags ahead of his proposed move to Manchester United and will not be in the Besiktas squad for their league match on Saturday.
Besiktas are due to travel to Konyaspor this weekend, but the Turkish side have already decided to leave the forward out of their travelling party.
Weghorst’s loan switch to Old Trafford appears to be edging nearer, and the 30-year-old is ready to travel to England to sign his contract, according to Turkish outlet Fanatik.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is desperate to leave Chelsea and will reportedly make whatever sacrifices are necessary to return to Barcelona.
Aubameyang has not started a single game for Chelsea since November and the loan signing of Joao Felix will only increase competition in forward positions.
Therefore, Aubameyang would be willing to return to Barcelona and play ‘almost for free’ to gain more first-team action.
