YoungstaCPT Reveals Three Songs From “3T” Album That Shaped His Childhood In Cape Town. On this day four years ago, Youngsta CPT released one of the best albums in SA Hip hop “3T” a project that was inspired by his grandfather.
Taking to Twitter, the Kaapstad rapper was asked by one of his fans and follower which songs from his body of work stood out for him and that he enjoyed working on the most. “@YoungstaCpt in case you forgot, today in 2019 you dropped one of the best albums to come out of Southaaaah. Wanna hear from you, WHICH SONG STOOD OUT FOR YOU/ THE ONE YOU ENJOYED WORKING ON IT THE MOST?” Reads the tweet.
In response, YoungstaCPT named his five favourite songs from the project stating that he was truthful in what he was saying in those songs. The rapper also said that he felt that it was his responsibility to educate the people of South Africa about the so-called authentic coloured experience.
“La familie, 786, Tik Generation, Pallet Gun & Crazy Arabian – I’d say those songs captured my childhood in Cape Town. Very introspective. I was candid and kinda over-shared abit but it was important for me to educate South Africa on the so called authentic coloured experience.” He tweeted.
YoungstaCPT recently released another collaborative album with Shaney Jay, Suffer For Beauty, a 12-track project. The body of work is powerful and introspective, delving into themes of struggle, pain, and beauty. “Suffer For Beauty“ Simply put is to struggle and strive but survive it, beautifully…” said YoungstaCPT.
